Men's Health
ANDYSMANCLUB is a men's suicide prevention charity offering free, confidential, peer-to-peer support groups for men aged 18 and over. Across Devon, these groups meet every Monday at 7 PM (excluding bank holidays). You can simply show up, with no booking or doctor's referral required.
Devon has multiple locations where you can access this support. The clubs operate in the following areas:
- Exeter:
- Exeter City FC, St James Park
- Wonford Community and Learning Centre
- Torquay:
- Shekinah Mission, Endeavour House, 228 Union Street
- Newton Abbot:
- Newton Abbot Library (Passmore Edwards Centre)
- Plymouth:
- City College Plymouth, Kings Road, Devonport
- Barnstaple:
- Operates locally in the North Devon area
- Honiton:
- New Street, Honiton
- Okehampton:
- Granite Way Cafe, Klondyke Road
- Teignmouth:
- Teignmouth Rugby Club
- Sidmouth:
- Operates locally in Sidmouth
What to Expect:
- Meetings begin at 7 PM, but the doors generally open around 6:30 PM or 6:45 PM for a brew and a biscuit.
- You sit in a circle and are guided through a series of questions.
- There is absolutely no pressure to speak. You can talk about what's bothering you, or you can just sit and listen.
- It is a strictly non-clinical, judgment-free zone.
